Hello,

December is always a busy time for St. Mary’s and all of our families!  Please take a quiet, calm moment to preview and note these upcoming events:

Saturday Dec. 9th- Immaculate Conception Church invites our community to attend an Advent Retreat and Reconciliation Service from 10:00-3:00pm.  Please contact the church for more information.  As well, please join us for Mass to mark the Second Sunday of Advent on Sunday, December 10th.

Monday Dec. 10th- Safe rider presentation for the whole school.

                  -“Four Calling Birds”- students will try to identify different bird calls over our PA system to collect points in our student council “Twelve Days of Christmas” Contest.

Tuesday Dec. 12th- All are invited to join us at the school for some Christmas preparation and shopping. Student businesses will be showcased at the Grade 9 Saints Market from 1:00-2:00pm.  Students have created business and marketing plans and handcrafted goods to be sold!

                -“Five Golden Rings”- Christmas Olympics at St. Mary’s!  More fun with our student council “Twelve Days of Christmas” contest.

Wednesday Dec. 13th- Subway hot lunch orders (to be served on Dec. 20th) are due to the office at 9:00am. Sorry, we are unable to accept late orders.

                -Good luck to our Senior Boys basketball team who will be playing at Sexsmith Secondary at 5:45pm, and to our Junior Boys team who will be hosting the Comp at 4:00pm.  Go Saints Go!

                - “6 Geese a-Laying” -Homeroom representatives will participate in an “Egg Toss” to collect points for our student council “Twelve Days of Christmas” contest.  As well, this is the final day that orders for milk shakes will be taken for Friday’s milk shake sale (pre-order ONLY).

Thursday Dec. 14th- Our Grade 9 Saints Market will join forces with students of John Paul II School for a much larger “Grade 9 Market Project”.  Pop by this sale at St. Catherine’s School from 4-6:30pm and support our students!  Please note, that the band performance that had been planned has been cancelled.

                -“7 Swans-a-Swimming”- staff and student perform interpretive dances to “Swan Lake”, just for fun - as part of the student council’s “Twelve Days of Christmas”!

Friday Dec. 15th- Hot Dog Day!  Our Booster Club will be selling hot dogs for $2.00, juice boxes for $1.00 and cookies for $1.00.  Thanks to our volunteers who make this possible!

                “8 Maids- a- Milking” – Cowboy day!  Come to school all gussied up in your best cowboy gear to collect points for our student council “Twelve Days of Christmas” Contest.  Milk shakes that were pre-ordered will be served at lunch!

Thank you to parents who have volunteered their time or made a donation to our Christmas Dinner. We are still seeking donations for the following items:

Turkey

Caesar dressing (Costco size)

Croutons (Costco size)

1 4L Milk

1 Large Butter

Cranberry sauce
